This time-limited demo version of the original Simcity shows off a little of what made the game so revolutionary at the time. The game does not play like a traditional video game in the sense that there is no definite 'win' condition; your goal is to simply build the best city that you can. The series began a whole line of 'Sim' games which were essentially sandbox titles. The original is simple compared to other games in the series but part of its charm is the simplicity which makes it easy to learn. The graphics are serviceable, and while there is no background music, the simple PC speaker sound effects are quite memorable.

I love this game, although it's old for nowadays technology. I remember when the monster appeared and destroyed part of the city, sometimes I hadn't enough money to rebuild the city and the game was over. I loved to try to get a successful city.
